Linsey Alexander, the renowned "Hoochie Man" , passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 23, 1942, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, Alexander began at a young age and took him from the Mississippi Blues Trail to Chicago. His passion for music began when a family friend left a guitar at his home, and he quickly taught himself to play.

In 1959, Alexander made his way to Chicago, and became a fixture in the city's North Side blues clubs. He played with many blues legends, including Buddy Guy, A.C. Reed, Magic Slim, and B.B. King. With his charismatic stage presence and unpretentious personality he charmed audiences, and he became known for his electrifying performances.
Big City Blues honored Alexander with a "Best Fan Interaction" award in 2012, and on June 8, 2014, Alexander was inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame at the blues club Buddy Guy's Legends
