Chicago’s iconic institutions are teaming up this season for a pop-up record store "Landmark Records", located at 3635 N. Clark St. at Gallagher Way, the plaza just west of the ballpark.
Delmark Records is the oldest continuously operating independent jazz and blues label in the country. Founded in 1953 by Bob Koester in St. Louis, Delmark moved to Chicago in 1958 and is now run by President and CEO Julia Miller and Elbio Barilari, the label’s artistic director.
At the Cubs home opener, the Delmark All Stars — featuring Mike Wheeler, Dave Specter, and others will perform in Gallagher Way on Saturday before legendary bluesman Bob Stroger throws the first pitch.
Stroger will also be honored for his upcoming induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis. Chicago Blues Hall of Famer Wayne Baker Brooks will perform the National Anthem and lead the 7th inning stretch.
